Up until recently, it was also pretty expensive - the only way to convert your car to use electricity as fuel was to get it done professionally, which could cost as much as $6,000.
.

Our Preferred Number One Choice: Electricity4Gas
Rating 9.5/10
Company: Electricity4Gas
Rank: # 1
Cost: $49.97
Review:What we liked about Electricity4Gas was the simplicity and cost reduced measures they implemented to their conversion kit. The manual was easy to understand with lots of information. Our test vehicle did 120 miles on a single charge. It was able to hit a top speed of 55 MPH. This is more than enough for city driving and some short highway drives.
Another great value they added were 6 bonus books:.

Impressively, our email was responded to in under an hour (although they do state it can take up to 24 hours, which is still pretty fast), and there is an unconditional 60 day money back guarantee.
Best of all, the technology required is readily available for free - we were able to access some of the parts for free and the rest of the parts for under $300. Given that its proven to eliminate fuel costs, you could well recoup your investment in under a month.
Installation works with any gas or diesel powered car, van, truck or SUV
Update: Last time we looked they had a special sale on where the price for the manual was $49.97. We are not sure when the sale ends, so we recommend ordering sooner rather than later.

Our Second Choice: Gas2Electric
Rating 7/10
Company: Gas2Electric
Rank: # 2
Cost: $69.95.
Review:Our second pick was reasonably clear and easy-to-follow.
The problem we found was it was more theory and not enough practical instructions.
They also have some bonus books. The bonuses were ok, but there was a few useless ones in there also.

Our Third Choice: Premium Electric Car
Rating 5/10
Company: Premium Electric Car
Rank: 3
Cost: $37.00
Description:Review:
Premium Electric Car was the least expensive manual in our tests. Unfortunately the manual was difficult to understand and it seemed like it missed steps. The concept is there but poorly designed and written. Our tests showed 75 miles per charge. It must be because of their battery selection. Once again cheaper is not always better.
.
This is why Electricity4Gas was a better choice. There design, method and comprehensive manual made our process easy.
.
The last thing you want when building this conversion is a lousy manual and poor design. Wasted effort is not an option with us!
